Strength & Cardio – What’s Involved?

Each of our Exercise Classes are 45 minutes in length. We begin with a Warm-up to prime the muscles for the session ahead and elevate our heart rate. The Class is comprised of exercises from two main areas, Strength Training and Cardio. We will run through a number of different movements to keep the class engaging, fun and stimulating, all while working multiple muscle groups. Variety is in each segment of the class. Cardio doesn’t have to be boring or monotonous! We’ll then finish with some core and/or mobility work. If you have any Physiotherapy related questions at the end of the class, you can ask the Physio before you leave!

Is this class suitable for me?

This class is suitable for a wide range of participants. Whether you’re a complete beginner or you train consistently, our exercise selection will allow for you to train at your own pace. Most Class Attendees are between 30 and 55 years old. Perhaps you’re a runner looking to incorporate some strength work into your weekly routine, or you haven’t exercised in a while and would like to get back to something. We’ve got you covered! Injury Prevention and Exercise go hand in hand and this is a fundamental cornerstone of what we do here at mybod. We also upload Exercise Tutorial Videos to our Facebook Group and YouTube Channel after the Class so you can reflect on movements you might have found tricky. You are encouraged to ask questions on anything and provide feedback too!

A Class for Older Adults

This is an Exercise Class designed to improve the quality of life for people in Ireland over 65 years of age. It is proven to improve Strength, Balance, Fitness and Mobility which are essential if you enjoy getting out into the fresh air, playing with your grandkids, and/or socialising with friends. The class has an additional instructor in comparison to other class formats and you are encouraged to train at a pace that suits you. No technical ability is required so it’s great for people who have never even exercised before. The class is designed by a Physiotherapist and led by an Athletic Therapist so you can have confidence that the movements that you’re doing are right for you. Keeping aches and pains at bay is essential so any issue you do have will be dealt with ASAP. Most importantly, it’s fun! We like to keep things light hearted and enjoyable so that it’s easier for you to keep it up.

We hold Assessment Days so that you can begin with an idea of your fitness level. You will then have the opportunity to repeat these tests often to see how you’ve improved. Naturally the most important aspect is how your mood and feelings improve as the weeks pass. Each class is €11 or €75 for a bundle of 8 classes. You will be required to sign a Health & Safety Waiver before beginning.

Core & Mobility

After a lot of feedback from our clients, we’re delighted offer our Core & Mobility Class. This class is similar to Yoga or Pilates and embodies a large part of the class. We do a large variety of slow and controlled movements to feel better recovered from the constant high intensity work involved in our sports, activities and daily lives. The class focuses on core and abs strengthening work whilst still feeling relaxed and meditative, with a secondary focus on becoming more mobile and flexible.

The same is true for our other classes. If you have a bundle for our Strength & Cardio Class, those credits are also redeemable for our Core & Mobility Class. Classes are €10 Pay As You Go or €75 for a Bundle of 8 Classes.
